Meet Our SWD Women’s Director

Jessica Salazar has served as the Southwest District Women’s Ministry Director for the past three years. She resides in San Antonio, Texas, and faithfully serves alongside her family in both local and district ministries.

Together with her two children, Judith and Jacob, Jessica joyfully supports ministry efforts throughout the Southwest District while standing beside her husband, Manuel, in his leadership role within the district.

With a heart for women’s ministry, Jessica is committed to encouraging spiritual growth, unity, and service among the women of the Southwest District. She dedicates her time, energy, and passion to serving God and His people, seeking to glorify Him in all she does.

Our Ministry Purpose

Our purpose is to cultivate a community of women who are spiritually grounded, Spirit-led, and actively serving—women who are committed to learning more, serving more, and growing together for the glory of God and the strengthening of His church.

Who We Are

Southwest District Women’s Ministry is a growing ministry of the Church of God (Seventh Day). We serve women across Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, encouraging spiritual growth, unity, and service through Christ.

Our Heart & Mission

We are women on fire for God—committed to learning more, serving more, and growing together as daughters of the King.

Our Growing Journey

Our yearly themes have marked a beautiful progression in our journey:

2022

 Beautifully Rooted

Inspired by the image of a tree deeply rooted in Christ, we focused on establishing a strong foundation of faith—bearing fruit, remaining green, and standing without fear. (Jeremiah 17:7–8)

2023

In the Beauty of Holiness

As we remained rooted, the Holy Spirit cultivated growth within us through the fruit of the Spirit. The tree bloomed as we learned to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. (Galatians 5:22–23; Psalm 96:9)

2024

Transformed

This year, the image of the tree transformed into a woman praising God—a reflection of the inward work God was doing within us. (Romans 12:1–2)

2025

Refined

The focus on our theme, Refined – Becoming God’s Masterpiece, let us remember that God is continually shaping us, just as a diamond is refined to reveal its brilliance. Every challenge, every victory, and every moment of surrender is part of His process, making us vessels of His glory.

(Ephesians 2:10)

Facebook Group

We invite you to sign up for our private women’s group, created exclusively for women of the Church of God (Seventh Day), including family and friends. This sacred space is dedicated to worship, devotionals, and prayer, where women can encourage one another and grow together in faith.

Worship and devotionals may be live or pre-recorded, allowing flexibility for all who wish to participate. Our goal is to offer a time of spiritual refreshment, renewal, and connection for the women of the Southwest District.

We warmly encourage the women of the Southwest District Church of God (Seventh Day) to participate and be part of this growing community. It is our prayer that this group supports your spiritual journey and strengthens your walk with Christ.

If you are interested in presenting a devotional, prayer, or worship song, please notify Debora Garcia, Administrator.

MISSION AND VISION

A church’s vision addresses the future by creating a clear picture of what we desire tomorrow to look like. Our Vision for a Vibrant 21st Century Church is briefly outlined below in our core values. These values paint our vision for tomorrow.

CHRIST CENTERED

We believe that Christ is the head of the church. Therefore, we will exalt the Lord Jesus Christ to the highest in our worship, teaching, preaching, and ministry. He is the author of our salvation and the focus of our faith. Scripture says putting Him at the center of all we do pleases the Father.

SPIRIT FORMED

We desire to be a church with increasing passion to experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit, expressed in the way we live and do ministry, individually and corporately.

BIBLE BASED

We believe that Bible-based teaching and preaching honor God and edify people. We also believe that our ministry should reflect the highest commitment to the integrity of interpreting biblical truth and applying it.

SABBATH CELEBRATING

We believe that being fully Christ centered and worshipping on the Sabbath are not in conflict. The Sabbath has never been more relevant than it is in today’s world, filled with weary people.

DISTINCT YET INCLUSIVE

We believe that the kingdom of God extends beyond our denomination, that we are only a small part of the body of Christ, and that we have a legitimate place within, and responsibility to, the rest of the Christian community.

PASSIONATE IN WORSHIP

We believe that worship is a primary means by which we express our love for the Lord and that it should be a priority of the church. Spiritual passion in worshipping the Lord agrees with Scripture and demonstrates our deepening relationship with Him.

COMPASSIONATE IN SERVICE

We believe that genuine love for the Lord will be transformed into ministry to others. Reaching out to the world through compassionate service honors the Lord and points people to Him.

ENGAGING IN WITNESS

We believe that lost people matter to God, that the church has a mandate to evangelize, that each member has a role in that process, and that world conditions call us to be aggressive about winning the lost.

UNITED IN FELLOWSHIP

We believe that a strong commitment to Christ calls us to a strong commitment to His church body. Building up the church through fellowship and through understanding, developing, and exercising our spiritual gifts is important.

COMMITTED TO DISCIPLESHIP

We believe that the goal of faith is to be conformed to the image of Christ, which happens best through the process of mentoring and discipleship. A healthy church is the result of the healthy spiritual development of individual believers.
